The groove pattern is the hallmark of the brand’s watches. Originally, the groove pattern on the Oyster bezel was used to help hold the bezel tightly to the case and ensure the watch’s water resistance.
The notches visible on the caseback serve the same purpose and are tightened to the case with a specific Rolex tool. Since then, the groove has evolved into an aesthetic design element and has become a classic Rolex icon. To this day, the corrugated pattern remains the hallmark of the brand’s watches, and the bezel of the Datejust 36 is made of yellow gold.
Many Oyster dial models feature a sunray effect that reflects a subtle sheen. This effect requires superior brushing techniques to create an engraved pattern that extends outwards from the center of the dial.
The light is dispersed along the notch, creating a subtle and unique effect that reveals a different glow with the swing of the wrist. After the sunburst effect is completed, the dial is colored by physical vapor deposition or electroplating, and then lacquered.
Glittering, noble, and the teaching is fascinating. Steel, strong and reliable. The two work in harmony and are combined with other functions.
Steel is the Rolex logo, which was used in Rolex models as early as the early 1930s and officially registered as a trademark in 1933. This is one of the distinguishing features of the Oyster series.
